PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This design-build project consisted of a 19,436 SF, one-story blood donor center located on an 8-acre site at Fort Benning, GA. The center included administrative areas, blood draw areas, blood storage areas, and waiting areas. The Center provides blood collection, processing, testing, apheresis functioning, manufacturing, storage, and shipping or blood products. 
The Sullivan Memorial Blood Center is LEED Gold certified and designed to minimize energy consumption, conserve resources, minimize adverse effects to the environment and improve occupant productivity, health, and comfort. During construction, 98.78 tons of construction waste was recycled instead of being sent to a landfill. In addition, high efficiency plumbing fixtures were utilized as well as minimum ozone impact refrigerants

This project qualified for the USGBC's Gold LEED certification, meaning this project utilizes many healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green features.
